Hello Families, What an incredible week in Grade 1! Literacy * I can experiment with letters and sounds to create new words. Each day we review letters of the alphabet. We sing songs, practice printing, and find things in the room that start with the letter of the day. Letters this week include L, M, N and, O. Have your child practice the alphabet song at home. Daily, students take books home to share with you. Please ensure these books are brought back so that they can take another. Have your child go on an alphabet scavenger hunt. Sept 2, 2022 Welcome Back To Grade One

Dear Parents, Welcome to Grade One! We are sure this year will be exciting, interesting, and packed with fun-filled activities.  Here is some general information about getting ready for Grade One. Shoes All students need a pair of inside shoes, which are to stay at school.  These shoes should be appropriate for games and activities in the gym. This year students will also be involved in games and activities during a daily fresh air break (FAB) outside, weather permitting.  Please take this into consideration when choosing outdoor footwear for your child.  Snack/Lunch Please pack a small healthy snack (fruit, vegetables, cheese & crackers, etc.) for our nutrition/snack break. In addition to this please send your child with lunch if they will be staying at the school during the lunch hour. We strongly encourage you to use a reusable drink and food containers as we strive to teach our students respect for our environment. Please send your child with their own labeled water bottle.  Ho
