November 18

Another busy week in Grade 1. We continue to develop our number skills 1-100 We have also been working on printing neatly and using capital letters properly. Our trip to the firehall was very interesting. We learned about fire safety and we also got to go in two fire trucks. We also noticed there were almost 100 hoses in the station. Thank you to the parents that came along to help us with our trip. Just a reminder that parent conferences are next week. They are now in an online format. No school Friday.

I am also sure your child would love to share their learning activities with you. We have had another busy week in Grade 1.  Math - We have started developing our understanding of number values from 1 -100.  Social Studies - We are looking at how a community is formed, what is a community, what does a community need to flourish. Friday 18th we shall be walking to the firehall in Parkland to understand more the role of firefighters in our community. Science - We are investigating liquids and solids and whether they are hot or cold. We are also determining which of these could be both hot or cold and if they take another form. e.g.Liquid water is hot but solid water has to be cold. Language Arts - we are developing our reading abilities and working on recognizing word families. In writing we are focusing on our printing neatness. Our Remembrance Day A
