Hello Families, Grade 1 has had another busy week of learning! National Indigenous Peoples Day This week we focused on Indigenous Peoples Day. 6We recognized and celebrated the history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis across Canada. Thank you to our fabulous Grade 3 students for organizing an informative assembly. Through intentional work around the Acknowledgement of the Land, we are able to engage in critical reflection and create personal connections to this important work in many meaningful ways and opportunities. We would like to acknowledge the traditional territories and oral practices of the Blackfoot Nations, which include the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai. We also acknowledge the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
